Our Minister and Staff


Rev. Kent Doss

Rev. Kent Doss began his ministry at Tapestry in August 2013. Before joining us here he served the UU congregation in Laguna Beach for six years. He attended seminary at Iliff School of Theology in Denver CO where he also earned a certification in Justice and Peace Studies. Rev. Kent currently serves as the President of the Pacific Southwest District of the Unitarian Universalist Association, and he sees his ministry as one that reaches beyond the congregation to build a thriving Unitarian Universalist movement for the future.

Outside of Tapestry Rev. Kent enjoys running, cooking, sailing, and walking his dog Lucy. If you come to Tapestry during the week you are likely to see her in the office. Rev. Kent is also working on a Doctorate of Ministry through Phillips Theological Seminary. The focus for the degree is pastoral theology.

Rev. Rayna Hamre
Affiliated Community Minister

Rev. Rayna Hamre is a long-time Unitarian Universalist who grew up in the Orange County area. She has served as a UU lay leader and as a Director of Religious Education. She holds a Master of Divinity degree and a MA in history. Her social justice passions include working to provide housing for those who are experiencing homelessness. As a Pagan leader in Orange County, Rev. Rayna serves as a shamanic practitioner who leads meditation classes and worship.


Director of Children’s Religious Exploration

Satya has many years of experience in education with children and youth. She holds degrees in Art History and Developmental Psychology. Her work as Director of Religious Education is rooted in her passion for holistic child development. She also works as a Social Sciences and Wellness teacher for a progressive high school in Pasadena, CA.


Irene Steyman
Music Director

Irene graduated from Donetsk State College and Conservatory in Ukraine with a Master’s degree in concert piano performance, piano pedagogy, accompaniment, and chamber music. She has over 20 years of experience as a church pianist and accompanist at Pine Hill Congregational Church in West Bloomfield, Michigan where she recorded a CD called “Saved By Grace” with the Pine Hill Choir. She is also the founder of the Pine Hill Chamber Music Trio, where she enjoyed practicing and performing with a violinist and cellist who were also members of the Congregation. The trio performed in various events within the Church and participated in an annual fundraiser for Music Ministry Concerts. She is also an experienced piano teacher of both private and group lessons. She loves being able to help inexperienced musicians grow into advanced concert pianists who share her passion for piano and music.

Irene is a certified Yamaha Education System Instructor from Yamaha Corporation of America, a certified Suzuki instructor, and is trained in Music for Young Children (MYC), a group piano program designed for young students beginning their musical studies. Irene is a Member of the American College of Musicians National Guild of Piano Teachers, the National Federation of Music Clubs, and the International Composition Festival.

Irene recently relocated to Orange County from the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan and has loved spending time exploring all of the new surroundings with her husband and daughter. When she is not playing the piano, she enjoys being outside in nature and basking in the beautiful weather and beaches here in California.


Rosanna Zamora

Rosanna has worked in bookkeeping and accounting since 2015. Her family of 5 includes her 17 year old daughter, Rianna, and her significant others 2 kids – Mikailah and Hannah. The family has stow dogs, Snow & Biscuit. Rosanna loves cooking, cleaning, gardening and going to the gym. Rosanna grew up in Irvine, and attended Woodbridge High. Future plans include completing her Associates Degree at Orange Coast College.
